Owner and Sassy Baker, Monique Cortes, wanted to bring something different to the cupcake and cake biz by offering desserts that not only looked amazing but taste amazing as well.

 After a successful 13 year career in corporate America, she was forced to face what a lot of people had to face, job uncertainty and possible lay-offs. She decided to not only have a back up plan but to follow her dreams and left to become a baker, with no formal training..

Sassy Sweets by Monique was established as an online / delivery cupcake business, because it took off soo quickly, she started to run her business out of  Beanheads Cafe where Sassy Sweets was able to get exposure and successfully exploded!

Monique was invited to audition for Cupcake Wars, from the Food Network and was on Good Day Sacramento, only to get so much more exposure!  Sassy Sweets by Monique is now a recognized name in the baking world and is known for the BEST cupcakes and cakes around.

Only two and a half years later....Sassy Sweets by Monique storefront opened it's doors February of 2012!! And as they say....and the rest is history!
